2018 saw a series of events which led to the diminishing of tensions on the Korean peninsula. In the wake of a potential denuclearisation deal, Donald Trump spoke of a prosperous future for North Korea achieved through private investment opportunities. With sanctions likely to come to an end, it is time to see just what North Korea’s economy has to offer, be you an investor yourself, a scholar or just a curious observer. There is no better opportunity to do this than the Rason Trade Fair Delegation, a unique economic focused exhibition based in the Rason special economic zone, an area of the country rarely seen by tourists, but open to a world of opportunity by investors.

Visit North Korea, partnered with Young Pioneer Tours’ five years worth of experience in attending the fair, offers a premium opportunity to get the best of this unique event, beneficial to the investor, scholar and observer seeking to make sense of a changing North Korea. The conference is a setting unlike any other. The Rason Special Economic Zone is different from the rest of the country. Modelled as a potential SEZ like in China in the early 1980s, it is a region which now unique offers opportunities and sights. If you want to understand North Korea’s future, then you need to come and see Rason.

Our group will have the unique chance to take part in the conference and participate in various meetings with government officials, Korean businessmen and local people, as well as visiting the must-see sights in Rason. It’s a chance to build ties, explore opportunities and think about the future about the country in the bigger picture. We’ll be also visiting some interesting places too, including the only bank in the country where foreigners can open an account, and also local private markets – a chance rarely found in the DPRK. We’ll visit a school and talk to students and even the Emperor Hotel – a 5* hotel built by Hong Kongnese investment which houses a casino!
