One of the most frequent questions we get asked is “Can I bring my phone in North Korea?”. With it being such a secretive country, many people assume they can’t. However, to put it short: You can! Foreign visitors can bring all types of phones into North Korea without issue! Nobody is going to confiscate them from you! You can also, if you haven’t guessed already by our content, take pictures with them too! Does this mean however you can actually make calls in the country or use the internet? Let’s find out below:
Using your phone in North Korea!
North Korea has its own telecom network, which is referred to as “Koryolink”- it’s a 3G system operated in conjunction with an Egyptian compay called Orascom. However, unless you purchase a local simcard you will not be able to phone in North Korea. These simcards can be found for sale at various spots, including Pyongyang airport. Your guides may also be able to assist you in where to buy one.
Once you’ve got your simcard, you can then connect to Koryolink. You can even purchase data and access the internet casually! Although this is expensive and without a vpn is subject to censorship. As a result, few tourists do this except regular visitors to North Korea, such as company guides and media personnel.
But either way, there you have it. It is possible to have your phone in North Korea. Don’t expect any issues in this area and safe travels!

Looks interesting but lot of info is missing: The terms, are the trips including flight, type of hotel, hotelroom pictures, are the meals included etc etc
I have the feeling that this site is not yet ready at all, terrms and conditions are important, hoteltype, meals, transport to/from the airport also.
But I have to make you a compliment, one of the best things to prevent escalations is doing business and getting familiar to each other out of the sight of all propaganda machines.
What we read/see via the media about the DPRK is not oblective and what the DPRK citizens read/see via the media about is also not objective.
Your company makes it possible that people going to respect each other and that is a good thing but your site has to get an upgrade about details 😉
